mGard Unit on Gate

The aisle is accessed by inserting the key from the panel associated with the specific aisle. The gate can then be opened once the personnel (safety) key is removed.

This key is your operator or engineers safety guarantee - its hard to see people in these long aisles so someone might see an inactive aisle, think no one is inside it and try to restart the machine. However as long as the person accessing the aisle has that personnel key in their pocket no one can remove the key switch key from the gate and stat the aisle back up.

mGard Panel

A panel of key switches, each represent the control of an aisle, referred to as a mode selection switch in EN 528 and EN 14119. This means that each aisle is controlled with unique coding as dictated by EN 528 section 4.3.5.

The keys are held in place by a solenoid and so only get released once an aisle has been safety powered down, once removed the switch is triggered so the aisle will not be restarted until the key is replaced.
