It has been six months since Fortress Safety acquired Remlive – a strategic move to expand the Fortress product portfolio marking an important step toward enhancing workplace safety. United by the common purpose of saving lives, Fortress and Remlive have combined their skills and expertise to provide more comprehensive and effective safety solutions.

Settling Into Fortress

The integration of Remlive into Fortress Safety has been an impressive journey. Within a week of the acquisition, the first products were already being shipped to customers from Fortress sites – a testament to great planning efforts.

A webinar was hosted early in August to provide an overview of electrical safety and electrical hazards, and how Remlive devices can help. Three sessions spanning different time zones attracted a diverse audience from various parts of the globe.

To introduce the Remlive team and products to Fortress colleagues, a “Remlive Day” was hosted at the Fortress HQ. John Rollason, former MD of Remlive and now Business Manager – Electrical Safety at Fortress, described the cultural integration between the two companies as seamless. “I have found a welcoming and supportive environment. The openness and friendliness of the Fortress team made the transition smooth, with no major surprises along the way”. He also added: “The support from Halma provided valuable guidance during this period of change, ensuring both teams had the tools and resources needed to succeed.”

Transitioning Customers Post-Acquisition

A structured approach to communication and logistical planning ensured a smooth transition, underscoring Fortress’s commitment to maintaining the trust of Remlive’s customers. A few hurdles are always expected during transition phases, but Fortress quickly addressed these with proactive measures. All Remlive’s existing customers have been successfully transferred to Fortress systems, and most importantly, there were no delays in shipments – a critical priority for both teams.

Taking Remlive on the Road

The last six months have also seen Remlive travelling around globe, with a focus on spreading awareness of electrical safety and building strong relationships with customers and partners worldwide.

John Rollason visited the United States where he had the chance to meet the Fortress US team as well as several customers. He also attended at a few exhibitions and events in Australia, where he showcased Remlive and engaged in fruitful conversations with safety professionals. Examples are the Mine Electrical Safety Conference (Perth) and the Workplace Health & Safety Show (Sydney). John was joined by Remlive’s longstanding partner NHP, who continues to work with us in our growth journey. Remlive was also a key focus of the Fortress booth at SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2024 (Nuremberg, Germany).

A trip to India was another major highlight of these first six months, where five seminars in five cities (Bellary, Jharsuguda, Raigarth, Mumbai, and Hazira) were attended by over 160 participants. It has been an absolute privilege for John to meet so many safety leaders and visit some amazing sites across the country.

Siddharth Bose, Founder and Director of BRiGS, said: “John’s visit was a great fillip to our understanding and confidence on Remlive and also Fortress Safety’s commitment for the Indian market”.

These international efforts not only reinforced Remlive’s presence but also underscored Fortress’s global ambitions for its latest product line.

The 2025 Vision for Fortress and Remlive

Looking ahead to 2025, Fortress aims to further elevate workplace safety by increasing the reach of Remlive products into new markets and ensuring accessibility for a broader customer base. By leveraging Fortress’s robust partner network, the plan is to penetrate untapped markets and provide support to customers worldwide.

In addition, 2025 will also focus on raising more awareness of the importance of live circuit detection. A special emphasis will be placed on connecting with customers and channel partners across the UK and Europe to highlight how Remlive products can complement Fortress’s existing portfolio.

While the first six months have laid a strong foundation for future growth, the journey ahead promises innovation, expanded reach, and stronger connections with customers worldwide.
