We were proud to showcase our latest safety innovations at SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2024 in Nuremberg. Taking place from 12th to 15th November, the event transformed our booth into a vibrant hub of interaction, learning, and innovation. With visitors from across the globe and industries of all types, SPS provided a platform to connect with customers, channel partners, and safety professionals. Attendees explored how our solutions not only enhance personnel safety around machinery but also help maximise productivity in automated environments.

A Hands-On Experience

Attendees had the chance to see our solutions in action through live demonstrations and interactive displays. Our team was on hand to guide visitors through our full range of products, providing insights into how our offerings can add value for their operations and protect their personnel. Some key topics stood out during the event:

Enhanced Connectivity of tGard interlocks with IO-Link Safety

A major highlight was the announcement of the upgraded connectivity capabilities of our tGard range, now compatible with IO-Link Safety. Visitors were excited to learn about the benefits of choosing tGard with IO-Link Safety and how this technology integrates seamlessly into modern automation systems, enhancing safety whilst improving installation speed and providing better control over system data.

Managing Access Control Permissions with FRANK

We presented a new demo to display how our FRANK industrial access control software allows companies to leverage their employees’ existing RFID cards to assign permissions and enforce operating conditions. Visitors appreciated FRANK’s ability to log and display interaction data in real time and how the system can be used to gather data insights to support efficiency and productivity analysis.

Mechanical Trapped Key Interlocks to Enforce Processes

“Everybody loves mGard!” The range of mechanical trapped key interlocks was another key highlight of the Fortress booth. Designed to enforce processes without the need for electrical wiring, mGard is a trusted solution for applications requiring the enforcement of complex sequences, particularly where multiple energy sources are involved. Visitors were challenged with trying to open a door module and experienced firsthand how keys remain trapped until the correct sequence of steps is followed.

Enhancing Workplace Safety with Remlive

For the first time we also showcased a live demo of our Remlive presence of voltage indicators. Featuring a bright LED display, Remlive devices help keeping personnel safe by providing a visual reminder that a circuit is live. We have also shown how they can be used (together with mGard) to enhance isolation procedures.
